The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf Nominated for the Annie Awards

Studio Mir, a leading Korean animation
production studio, announced today that its Netflix animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is
nominated for the Best Special Production at the 2022 Annie Awards.

This year will be the
49th anniversary of the Annie Awards hosted by the International Animated Film
Association (ASIFA) in Hollywood. Known as the Academy Awards for animation,
Annie Awards celebrate animation series and films worldwide that have contributed
to the industry by 36 divisions. The ceremony will be held virtually and livestream
online on March 12th.
The Witcher: Nightmare of
the Wolf is a spin-off animated film of Netflix's live-action series, The Witcher. It is critically acclaimed
to have successfully expanded The Witcher’s
world, setting a high bar for quality. Studio Mir took the helm from
development to screen creating dynamic characters, art, and action which garnered
a strong international following.
Kwang Il
Han, Director and Executive Producer of the film, said, “We went through blood,
sweat, and tears to craft this film. Each and every production crew supported
each other through thick and thin and put so much effort into this. And I
believe this shows on screen and pays off by how the audience responds to it.”
He added that “Studio Mir will continue to strive for the best to grow the
Korean animation influence within the global market.”
Studio Mir sets out to go
public late this year. More than 80 million viewers have watched Studio Mir
works in total and the studio is the only Korean studio to have signed a production
line deal with Netflix. With the continued line-up of successfrom Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary
Defender, and now DOTA: Dragon’s
Blood, Studio Mir has gain a wide foothold as the K-animation frontrunner
in the global market.
